By reading Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard. It's a long-ass book, so it's going to take a decent amount of preparation and it's also going to take a few posts to adequately cover the pure insanity that is called Scientology.
Feel free to comment with your thoughts!

*chuckle*
Ah yes, gotta love that religion.
(Hubbard was a failed sci-fi writer.)
Their tactics are pretty vicious.
And they aren't above assaulting people who expose them.
As well as slandering you, libeling you , breaking into your home or business and stealing documents etc etc etc.
Just be careful.

Oh, I know. But I refuse to be intimidated when the shit is that funny. Besides, I'm just talking about what Ronny boy wrote. I should dig up the interview he did where he said that if you REALLY want to make money you have to start your own religion. I think Snopes has it.

I also loved his writing about Xenu and how all these supposed souls were set end to end and side by side by volcanoes that were then nuked.

Did you see the South Park episodes? You know, the ones that offended "chef"? They were great!

Don't have cable.
Oddly enough.

Oooo... respect just dropped a bit there, dude.

I don't miss it.
Got tired of the screeching news casters.
That and the local cable company kept changing what the package contained without warning and then claiming certain channels were never part of the pakage despite paperwork showing that they were.
(And guess what, Time Warner cable has a monopoly in my area.. sweet.)
Sat dish isn't usable in my physical location.
Signal quality stinks.
So that leaves cable as the only option.
*Grrrrr*
And I won't pay Time Warner for the privilege of being butt raped and lied to.

Too many good shows to not be able to watch sometimes, but I do feel your pain about the monopolies. I lived in a tiny town where everything was a monopoly -- cable, phone, even cell phones for a while. *tsk* Even basic cable gives you some good shows. Psyche and Burn Notice are on USA.

We didn't have USA, SciFi, or even the Military channel.
They took those away from us and gave us Lifetime and I forget the other one.
(Remove three or four, give two.. yeah, that's an even trade.)
Posted by: Matt | 11/19/2009 at 09:45 AM
I didn't know that Lifetime was considered basic. Eeeew. I couldn't live like that, screw the monopoly.

That's what we did.
We ditched the cable and never looked back.
They kept changing the package without warning or explanation.
(I hear that in other venues, changing packages isn't such a bad thing.)

No, no, what I meant was screw the monopoly -- I couldn't live like that: without cable. I'd have to be able to watch something. :-P

If I could find the owners, they'd be screwed.

Can we have lions? I like lions.

Sounds like a plan.
